Every pregnancy journey is unique and I love hearing your stories, your experiences, birth plans and what it took to get you here. Your body is incredible and a maternity shoot is a celebration of exactly that.

EXCITING

Pregnancy is so exciting and scary all at the same time. I understand the aches and pains, the anticipation and the sleeplessness, and how all too quickly those moments pass us by. With your hormones going crazy, sometimes nausea can be debilitating in the first few months and fear of the unknown if this is your first. One thing is for sure; you have felt those little butterflies in your belly as he or she tumbles about. You feel that extraordinary bond with baby already forming and you cannot wait to meet your new little soul. Maternity Photos are the perfect way to document all the feels.

FAMILY HEIRLOOMS

It is also it is a magical time of new life and wonder I am passionate about documenting both maternity and newborn milestones and my goal is to create the most breathtaking images for you to treasure forever and to be able to pass down to your children one day. Imagine sharing those photos with your little one when they are more grown up – possibly even expecting their own child, showing them the joy and the memory of what you looked like when you were carrying them. My biggest regret is not having these types of photos to share with my girls.

A maternity session is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself and your baby – a true memory of a time that seems to take forever but is all too soon forgotten.

BOOKING A MATERNITY SESSION

The best time to book your Perth Maternity session is when you are about 32 – 36 weeks into your pregnancy, so we capture your growing bump before any swelling and general feeling of discomfort sets in. And of course, in case baby decides to make an early entrance. This happens more regularly than you think. If you are particularly uncomfortable, it is quite acceptable to have your maternity photos before 32 weeks.

What to wear to your maternity photo shoot may seem terrifying.

You may be feeling big and uncomfortable or self-conscious, and I understand you want to look and feel your best.
So, I have sourced a lovely selection of classic, glamorous and boho inspired gowns, dresses and robes for you to use at no extra charge!

Every piece is carefully chosen to suit all figures and make you feel like the goddess you are.

We usually have time for 2 – 3 outfit changes during your maternity session

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A PERTH MATERNITY PHOTO-SHOOT?

Sessions are so relaxed and fun – I will help you every step of the way. Don’t worry if you’re not used to being in front of the camera. I will help you with how to stand and where to place your hands to achieve the most natural and flattering looking photos.

We will have time to do two or three outfit changes and we will use different parts of your chosen location to achieve slightly different looks.

I will take a variety of shots, including full-body, close-up, and candid images. We will add your partner and other children if you are including them in your photo-shoot. This will give you a great selection of images when you receive your photos.

My style is to incorporate the landscape in your photos, to compliment and add warmth and light to you photos. Whether we shoot at eh beach, the forest or the park, I am always looking for the light and interesting foliage to include and compliment your photos.

THE PERTH MATERNITY SUNSET SESSION IS PERFECT IF …

• You want a dreamy romantic feel
• You want magic to happen
• You want something a little different and unique
• You want golden light –  sessions are scheduled an hour before sunset for beach locations *locations higher than sea level may require an earlier start time – but each session start time is confirmed approximately a week prior
• You want real/raw and emotive images
• Outdoor sessions are best scheduled in summer months. (Sessions from June to October will be scheduled in studio but can be changed to outdoor if your date has good weather)

THE STUDIO IS PERFECT IF …

• You would like privacy, where you can feel relaxed and at ease without the thought of too many onlookers.
• You’re camera shy as we can have fun and have a laugh and be a little silly
• You would like to be flexible with time options
• You would like more intimate boudoir styled photos
• You prefer a more Fine art “look” for your photos
• We do not need to be concerned about the Weather forecast, on-lookers or your perfectly styled hair all over your face!
• (All winter sessions are scheduled for the studio)
