A few weeks ago I had the greatest pleasure of traveling back up to Karratha to do a very special family photo shoot. I photographed Jess and Lee’s first baby almost 2 years ago and the Edie again when she was a year old. They just welcomed another perfect edition to the family – Baby Dempsey. I was completely out of my comfort zone, working in a borrowed studio. I literally packed as many blankets and wraps as I could into 1 suitcase, including a bucket and shoved a few clothes down a side pocket.I arrived to a very warm Krratha and poor Dempsey was feeling a bit out of sorts with quite a stuffy nose. It took a little while to get him settled and each set change disturbed him a little.
I was told I will be forever grateful to Tess from Earth and Water photography for helping me out with the loan of a room, some lights and a beanbag. Dempsey’s, Nana, was a great assistant and helped me hold the blankets to keep them nice and smooth.
The studio was too small to include any family shots so we headed to my favourite spot in the world later in the afternoon to capture these gorgeous memories. Thank you to Sugarplum Tree Australia for the most adorable pinnie I have ever seen. It was perfect for our colour scheme, and the texture was stunning. Miss Edie looked like a bush princess.
